What is fixed wireless internet?
Fixed wireless access beams a connection from our tower or POP to a fixed antenna on your roof. It isn't a mobile hotspot and it isn't satellite. It runs on our network end to end: two downtown Las Vegas datacenters, our own middle mile and last mile, AS27501.

How a fixed wireless install works
- Address and line-of-sight check. We look at the path from our towers to your building.
- Site survey. A technician checks the roof, the view, and the cable route.
- Mount the antenna. Typically about the size of a dinner plate; larger radios only when distance or capacity needs it.
- Cable to the demarc. Our in-house team runs it under Nevada C-2 electrical contractor license #0093716.
- Turn-up and speed test. We light it and test it before we leave.
A typical install takes 2–3 hours. Commercial roofs get non-penetrating sleds with ballast when needed, licensed electricians, and a clean demarc. And it's backed by No Signal, No Charge: if we can't establish a good connection, you don't pay. See the full installation process.

Fixed wireless access (FWA), also called microwave internet, sends your connection by radio from an isp.net tower or POP to a fixed antenna on your building. Inside, it hands off like a normal wired circuit.
No. A hotspot shares a cellular network with every phone nearby. Fixed wireless is an antenna on your roof aimed at our tower, running on isp.net's own network.
It depends on the path. We design each site to the bandwidth it needs, from home plans to multi-gig business links, and we survey first so the speed we quote is one the path can carry.
Yes, up to 10 Gbps where line of sight and spectrum allow. Not every rooftop can carry that, and the survey tells us what your path supports.
Yes. The antenna needs a clear view to an isp.net tower, POP, or relay. If there's no direct view, we can often relay off another of our towers.
No. The signal crosses the valley to our tower instead of going to orbit and back, so latency stays low.
For many sites, yes, especially where fiber isn't in the street or the build is a long way off. Where fiber is already in the building, it has the higher ceiling, and fixed wireless makes a strong second path.
Yes. Our network doesn't share pipes, wires, or conduits with national carriers, so a cut line on their side doesn't take down our path.

I've had ISP.net for 10 years. I'm a residential customer and when I say I've never had an outage or slow uploads/downloads speeds belive me. I kinda chuckle at all the comments out their who have the bigger know names for service when they complain about service, price and reliability I wish I could tell them get ISP.net. pricing is very competitive for the what's out there. If I do need to call about change of email or phone number I speak to someone right away and I love that its a local business. Give them a call and try it out.
